Thump, thump, thump!
That's what our neighbor below us (Mr. Tony) hears all day
......thump....thump....thump.....
Kwabena running back and forth through our small 2-bedroom condo. From the end of our narrow galley-style kitchen, past the dining room, to the sliding glass door, and back...........
From the sliding glass door, down our short hallway, where he collapses on his bed in a fit of laughter......
Today he was running and our neighbor, who usually has been very patient (or so I suppose) with Kwabena's thumping above his head, took his broom handle (or some other long object), and banged back on our ceiling!!
You think it's time to move, or what??
We've been battling this "to-move-or-not-to-move" decision for the last--I swear--4 to 5 months. And each time we seriously debate and consider it, we have a lot of valid reasons to move (like the example above):
MOVE:
- We need more space!!
- Better public school district.
- If we have baby #2, eventually that child may need another room, especially if it's a girl.
- A backyard would be nice, so Kwabi and his possible future sibling could have a place to play in the outdoors without having to go to a park.
- If other families have survived in less or equal amounts of space, couldn't we survive, too?
DON'T MOVE:
- Our mortgage would increase at least $1,000 - $1,300 more per month. Who can afford that?
- If we have another child, daycare costs for 2 kids would be $1,400 - $1,600 a month for the next 2 and 1/2 to 2 years (until Kwabi starts kindergarden; then it would be around $700 per month for baby #2)
- We could send Kwabi to private school, which won't be that much more than what his daycare currently costs per month.
These are all reasons I have batted around in my head, and I just can't come up with the "right answer" of what we should do.
I think we may just have to suck up to our neighbor down below, and apologize profusely.....at least, until Mr. Tony decides it's time for him to move and get some peace and quiet. LOL
