I'm feeling the pressure of single-parenthood while Kwasi is gone--getting up on time, packing lunch, getting both of us ready, doing daycare drop-offs and pick-ups....WHEW! It's not that it's hard work--it's just time-consuming.
The goal is to get to daycare at opening time, 7 a.m. We've been getting there at 7:20 a.m., which puts me 20 minutes behind....which means after all is said and done, it takes me 1 hours and 40 minutes to get to work from the time I leave the house to the time I get to my desk.
Crazy, huh?
Pick-ups are a little easier...as traffic isn't *as* bad.....However, it still takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to get from work to daycare.
Even crazier, eh?
Tonight we stopped at the library after I picked Kwabena up from daycare. By the time we walked through the door, it was 6:30 p.m. I had planned to make a pot of chili and homemade cornbread. Thirty minutes later--SUCCESS! Dinner was done :) At least I did something right today.......
Kwasi is a big help, actually. But when I think about it too deeply, having his help still doesn't lend a hand to the time-crunch that I am under, being a working mom with a long commute who can't seem to get home before 6 p.m.
Since I try to get Kwabena into bed, lights out, by 9 p.m., that gives me a few hours at home, but their not really quality hours, since I am either straightening up, trying to make some semblance of a dinner.....
But it's definitely easier with Kwasi! Coommmmeeee bacccckkkkk!!!!! LOL Weeeee neeeeed yyyoooouuuuuuuu! :) <3
