It takes on a robins egg blue at times....then looks more soft aqua at other times....I love it so much. I just hate the paint smell. BLECH!
Tomorrow I will take the tape down, and paint the doors and trim ultra white...and go back to get some curtain rods that fit. The ones I bought are 1) black and will be too much of a stark contrast, and 2) too wide; I need more narrow ones. I sure hope I can find my receipt to Ross!! They were cheap, only $8.00 a piece, but still....I could use that money back to go buy 4 smaller silver ones tomorrow.
Anyhow, off of home stuff......On to the kids....They're doing great! Ohene is saying more words lately. He is trying to say "done" when he's done with his food (along with waving his hands, a sign a made up a long time ago). He also says:
1. Done
2. Ball
3. Sponge Bob
4. Da-da
5. Apple
6. More
7. Dog (dah!)
8. Book (Buh)
And he understands everything! I often ask him to take stuff back to my room, and this-and-that, and he does it! He's so smart :) And so freaking cute!
Last weekend he and I were laying down together, trying to get him to nap. I closed my eyes as we were cuddled up together, our arms locked. And then I reached up to stroke his head, and he did the same thing back to me! He was rubbing my hair, and playing with my ear. It was sooo endearing!! And then I pulled back and looked at him, and he looked back at me with his paci in his mouth and a big smile, and then started to giggle in his "heh-heh-heh" laugh. Soooo sweet!!
Kwabena's Kindergarten orientation came in the mail this week, and we're super excited about it! It will be April 24th, I believe, at 10:30 a.m. We'll be able to see the classrooms, and to talk to the teachers and stuff. YAY! Of course, when the papers came, the following day at daycare, it was all Kwabena could talk about. It was a challenging day, overall. Miss Marilyn laid in to me about how Kwabena was saying, "My mommy says I'm cute, and when I get older, all the girls are going to chase me!" And things like, "When I get to school, I'm going to choose milk!" I don't know where he got THAT one from....
Anyhow, so I think the excitement from the school letter, coupled with tiredness, and probably some reaction to that damn allergy meds I give him occasionally, he was wired up at Miss Marilyn's early in this week. I got the full report from her. She has the nerve to even say that Kwabena is very "child-like" and "acts like a 2-year-old" and that "Ohene acts older than Kwabena." I really recent those comments. I know that Kwabena's super hyperactive behavior can be very annoying when he gets tired and all. The things he does are not appropriate, like trying to tickle people when they don't want to be tickled, putting his hands in their face, etc. All these things he seems to think are funny but are actually annoying and are more pronounced when he's tired. I wonder what problem he may have when he starts school and he's one of 25 kids in a class. I wonder if he will act out, be silly, be so easily distracted the way Miss Marilyn says he is at her house when they're doing school work and he's trying to see what everyone else is working on. I guess time will only tell!
I have gained back FOUR of the SIX Weight Watchers pounds I have lost, thanks to my poor eating habits and lack of exercise. I think what happens when I get pregnant, I get lazy, because I KNOW that I have to gain about 25-35 pounds. So I feel like, if I am going to get fat ANYHOW, may as well enjoy eating what I want. I don't exercise when I am pregnant, really, because for some reason, I feel like it's "safer" to just be still and not exert myself too much. But I know there could really be some health benefits to keep working out, so I don't gain too much.
Well, it's past 11.....Kwasi is out with Carlos Young tonight. I am getting very hungry. Better go get a snack and watch some TV!
Night!
